I worked this up today during my local String Thing Meetup with the notion that it might make for a good Xmas present for the kids' teachers. It is mostly single crochet, though, and that would drive me buggy to do in bulk, so it's probly not going to happen.

Was made with Lionbrand Cotton and a G hook. Pattern is here [link]

. o O (Don't like how the picture came out.. doesn't show off the 3D-Escherness of the pad :P)


Edit: Ended up giving it to my mother for her birthday which is right before Christmas. She decided it was a wall hanging & mounted it by her curio cabinets ^_^

:aww: I would Looove one of these as a teachers gift! Seriously, this is the coolest hotpad I've ever seen! It looks so complicated, I'm in awe.

Hee, you are a teacher? I totally would have done these for them but all that single crochet would have driven me (and my wrists!) nuts!

It is a bit complicated to pull together in the end (would have been easier if the instructions were better :P) but for the most part, very simple!
